The Unpardonable Sin

I would like to know what is the unpardonable sin, and if can it be committed today?

As far as what is the "unpardonable sin" of scripture, let me answer the second part of your question first…

No, the unpardonable sin cannot be committed today in this present dispensation of God's Grace.

Why? Because it is the age where God is giving out [dispensing] his grace and not his wrath! That is what our Apostle Paul's ministry is all about and that is why all of Paul's epistles are started with "Grace and peace from God the Father.” Christ gave Paul a ministry of grace...a ministry of "reconciliation.”

Acts 20:24
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

2 Corinthians 5:18
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

And because of that reconciliation, God is not imputing ANY trespasses to mankind that He will not pardon if they trust Christ as their Saviour!

Romans 3:23-25
For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Our Apostle Paul actually mentions that in the next verses in 2 Corinthians 5...

2 Corinthians 5:19-21
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So today, in the dispensation of God's Grace, there is no "unpardonable" sin!

So what is this unpardonable sin in scripture and when is it in effect? Well, that is why we need to rightly divide God's Word as he commands us through Paul...

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Therefore, it is not in this present dispensation of grace where a person can commit the unpardonable sin; but when we rightly divide God's word we see that a person can/will commit that sin during God's prophetic times with Israel. In fact, this is what our Lord Jesus says to the nation of Israel!

Matthew 12:31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Here we see that our Lord warns the people of Israel who blasphemously said that he cast our devils by the spirit of Satan and not by God's Holy Spirit. The Lord tells them to beware because if they say those blasphemous things about the Holy Ghost after he comes into the earth in Acts 2, that those who do that will never be forgiven by God, neither back then during the Lord's earthly ministry, nor in his millennium kingdom to come [note: our present dispensation of the Mystery was not in view here]. So before our dispensation began, and after it ends, if a man blasphemes against the Spirit of God, they will not be forgiven.

Hopefully this helps...Maranatha!
