A saint who walks away…

You once said “a saint who walks away, that is, stops listening to his Master's Word, will not lose salvation, but WILL lose his reward!”   This seems to adhere to the 5th point of Calvinism--the perseverance of the saints. But how far will you take this declaration of yours? Can a born-again believer commit the sin of murder of an innocent? Now, if he can and does such an act, does he lose his salvation? If so, must he repent before he can gain back his salvation?

Calvinism in non-sense!

I adhere to the sound doctrine of our Apostle Paul, God's spokesman for us today, found in His Word! So I take eternal life as far as Paul takes it, which is throughout eternity FOREVER! We did nothing to be saved, but believe, so there is nothing that we can do to lose our salvation.

Romans 4:4-5
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

God says in His word that even when a believer stops believing, God remains faithful to us!

2 Timothy 2:13
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Our focus needs to be on His faithfulness, not our performance!  So even, like in your example of “a member of the Body of Christ committing murder,” he still does not lose his salvation! Murder was just one sin of many which our Lord died for.

And for those of us who trust Him—that He died for us on the Cross—all of our sins were paid for, even the sins that we will commit in the future!  (Remember, all our sins were future from Calvary, including murder!)

That is God’s grace!!

Hopefully this helps...Maranatha!

  1. What a relevant declaration: "I'm a follower of Paul (as he followed Christ), not of Calvin!"
