The preaching of Jesus Christ

Romans 16:25
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

The gospel of the grace of God is how that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again.

1 Corinthians 15
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.   For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;   And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

If you are saved today or have any hope of being saved, you need to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, shed his perfect blood on the cross and that he was buried and rose again on the third day.  That is the only gospel that saves.   There is more than one gospel in the scriptures.  Peter and the other 11, and the Lord in his earthly ministry preached the gospel of the kingdom where they were looking for the Messiah and his kingdom.  How could they preach that Christ died for sins before he died?  Our message is that he died on that cross, it’s the preaching of the cross.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Their message was that he was going to go and be Messiah and later he would shed his blood for them.  I showed you last time that what Israel’s religious leaders should have done when Messiah was presented was to first believe on him.  But, secondarily, Christ always opened their understanding; and what he would have taught them is, as the same way Isaac was about to be sacrificed by his own father Abraham, the same picture of all those blood sacrifices was also in the Law of Moses.  Those religious leaders should have believed on Christ as their Messiah and then—instead of putting him on a cruel and criminal cross, they were supposed to—bind the sacrifice to the horns of the altar in the temple, shed his blood and wait for God to raise up their Messiah.

Psalm 118:27
God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

Instead of doing it with holy hands as they should have done, they did it with wicked hands and put him on the cross in rejection.

Acts 2: 22-23
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:  Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Philippians 2:8
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

But, through that cross, through that rejection, God showed Paul a revelation of the mystery.

Romans 16:25
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Look what he said in Romans 16:25, Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, [but, not according to prophecy (i.e., being what had been foretold since the world began, but] according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.

It’s preaching according to that sacred secret that God didn’t let anyone know…

Ephesians 3:9
…the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

It was the fact that Jesus Christ would accomplish at Calvary some things [not just] in the earth [but also] and the heaven.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

From Genesis 1:2, God has only been dealing with the earth, and the people in the earth, and [then] the kingdom in the earth (the people of Israel), and all gentiles were cast off.

Romans 1:21-24
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which

To be right with God, you had to become a Jew.  But, that is not what God is doing today in the dispensation of grace.

Colossians 1:21
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.

2 Corinthians 5:18
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

When we rightly divided the word, every man, both Jew and Gentile can be right with God through what Christ accomplished.

Ephesians 2:15
Having abolished in his [Christ’s] flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain [both Jew and Gentile] one new man, so making peace;

Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

That is the mystery of Christ.
