People have their own opinions, but those don’t matter. What matters is what God has to say through the Apostle Paul. When Paul talks about one mind and one spirit it has to do with what God has to say through him. God gave 13 epistles to explain to us what he is doing today. How does God speak today? We will see that it is through those 13 letters of the Apostle Paul.
God spoke in time past through Moses, the prophets, the Lord Jesus and the Hebrew apostles to Israel. He speaks in the future through the Jewish apostles. But today, in the but now, he speaks through the Apostle Paul. That is how we can be of one mind.
1 Timothy 3:14-15
These things write I unto thee [the body of Christ], hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself
(Your behavior is the same thing as your conversation.)
in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Paul says that is where the truth is found. Local grace assemblies are to stand for the word of truth of God rightly divided.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
If you claim to believe God’s word, then you have to believe the verses just as they’re written. I have shown the next verse to people for years and I have never had anyone explain to me how this could not be saying what it is saying. They just make excuses even though it is clear.
1 Corinthians 14:37-38
If any man think himself to be a prophet [speak for God], or spiritual [know something about the word of God], let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
