We are
a three-part being consisting of a spirit, a soul, and a body.
Genesis 2:7
~And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the
ground [BODY], and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life [SPIRIT]; and man became a living SOUL.
All aspects of a man need to
be saved/delivered
1 Thessalonians 5:23
~And the very God of peace
sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be
preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The
SOUL from the Penalty of sin;
The
SPIRIT from the Power of sin; and
The
BODY from the Presence of sin.
2 Corinthians 1:10
~[Christ] Who delivered us [our SOUL] from so great a death,
and doth deliver [our SPIRIT, i.e., thinking with
transformed, renewed mind]: in whom we trust that he will YET deliver us [our BODY];
