Just
to be clear, when a soul is thrown into Hell, does it immediately degenerate into a worm but it still has complete recollection of who it is and everything
that happened in this life? What a horrifying thought!!
When
a lost man dies and his soul thrown into hell, it doesn’t immediately
degenerate into a worm. That happens
over a course of time, in particular when he is thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found
written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
One
of the seven sayings of Christ while he was on the cross was from Psalm 22…
Mark 15:34
And at the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being
interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Psalm 22:1
My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me…
Verse 6 says that ‘I (Christ) am
a worm, and no man;’
Psalm 22:6
But I am a worm, and no man;
a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
Evidence of that is another saying
of Christ on the cross…
John 19:28
After this, Jesus knowing that
all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith,
I thirst.
That is because Christ’s soul was
being offered for sin and he was experiencing the ‘second death’ of the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:14
And death and hell were cast
into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Christ was experiencing our second death on the cross. God made
his soul an offering for sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he [God the Father] hath made him [God the Son]
to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him.
So in essence he was experiencing
what a soul will experience in the Lake of Fire. Psalm 22:6 is a prophecy. That was the thinking (that which was in the
mind) of the Lord Jesus Christ as he hung there on the cross.
So the worm has to do with the lake
of fire, hence, “I thirst.”
...to be continued.
...to be continued.
Hopefully this
helps!
