"Jonah" ...not just a bedtime story

There are types, shadows and parallels to be found in scripture, plus details that, when brought to the surface, add to our knowledge and understanding, thus making those bedtime stories rich and relevant to our lives.

From the mailbag...

Hi Pastor Ron,

I've emailed you in the past & we've corresponded. You answered some questions, etc. You may or may not remember. I live in Nebraska & have been a grace believer for about 15 years without a church. I get my teaching off the internet from many grace teachers.

I wasn't aware of the Joint-heirs controversy, or even your views on it. I came across it on Bryan Ross's Church History page. I started reading all the articles one at a time, with my first thought to oppose the NCGF view on this. After reading all with an open mind & bible I have to say that I agree with you guys (God's word) on this as it just makes sense with the verses.

I agree also on your method of bible study, using the KJB to compare passages (and in the context). I do see the danger of trusting the Greek instead of the KJB. This really becomes an "end around" to cause us to doubt our bible, just as the modern versions do. Thanks to Ryan Michael Jones, Matt Stutzman, and yourself for the reminder.

I have more questions, but enough for now. I do want to say I am sorry about the GSB conference thing. I wish (and believe) we should be able to have honest dialogue & we will not always agree on everything.

Thanks for your work in rightly dividing the scriptures.

In Christ

From the mailbag...

Greetings Pastor Ron,

I was introduced to the grace message less than 2 months ago and find it amazing.  I could go on and on about that, but will spare you the rambling.

Just let me thank you for the information and for teaching the "greatest story never told" in most churches, with the passion and sincerity as you do.  To the Judgment seat we go with confidence!

God bless you!

Hopefully this helps!

From the mailbag...

Dear Pastor Ron,

Thank you for the immediate reply.  Since I failed to properly introduce myself, I think it would bring you great joy to know that your preaching of the Gospel of Grace and Paul's Dispensation has reached the Manila, Philippines.

As I mentioned we are 8 people meeting every week to study God's Truth.  We cannot find a local church that preaches Dispensational Truth.  All of us are former Catholics and sadly all Christian churches here are not any different than the Catholic church.  I have been searching for a sound teaching for the past 2 years now. There is no church or pastor, in my search, who preaches Paul's letters.

It is sad that many of the believers here are not fed God's Truth.... It is pretty much the blind leading the blind. That is why I am so thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ that through the internet media I am now hearing and learning the proper way of studying the bible.

Know that I will share all your videos on our Saturday meetings in the absence of a teacher-pastor to lead our small group.  You shall hear from me again as we are all babes learning to walk.  We will include you and all our spiritual brethren your side of this earth.

May God bless you and the whole church in Norcalgrace.

Thank you!

Hopefully this helps!

From the mailbag...

Hello Pastor Ron Knight,

I am 25 years old and am emailing you for a few different reasons and the first is to say a huge THANK YOU!! I have listened to you on YouTube every morning as I get ready for work for nearly a year and just wanted to tell you that you have helped me so much with my walk with God and understanding the bible. You are an amazing man of God and your teachings are easy to understand and it is truth, straight from the word of God. I am so grateful to have found your bible studies on the internet.

I would really love your opinion on what denomination I should attend as I have been going to a Pentecostal church for about a year and a half and before I even listened to your teachings and felt uncomfortable with people speaking in tongues and people being slain in the Holy Spirit. It all felt wrong, not of God, and I prayed and prayed for an answer.....that is when I stumbled upon your studies on YouTube. I also have children and I want them to grow up knowing the truth. I don't want them learning things that are not of God in church. I want for us to be planted in a church that rightly divides the word and understands it like you do. This is so important to me as they are my beautiful children and it’s important to me that they have correct understanding of God and his word. I wondered if you had any advice for me and the pickle I am in. I have visited a few other churches but someone always starts yelling out in gibberish.

I would love to talk to you more, but I'll leave you with this right now. Once again thank you so much.  If it wasn't for God leading me to your video's I would not understand the bible as I do now, rightly divided. I still have sooooooo much to learn and will keep listening to your teachings, praying and reading the word of God.

You are doing an amazing job, keep up the great work from the other side of the world...you’re reaching us!! :)

God bless,

(from a listener in Rotorua, New Zealand)

Hopefully this helps!

From the mailbag…

It's comforting to know that many others have been blessed by Ron's ministry and consider his YouTube ministry as their church...I am also happy to share with you how we came to Brother Ron's ministry.

After moving from Chicago to Southern California, my wife and I were seeking a new church home. We visited many places that were recommended by her family, and even some that we had previously watched on television, but none of them fed us enough spiritually. We finally came across a church that really stood out. The pastor actually discussed more than 3 scriptures, and we were impressed. (How ironic, I cannot remember what he preached that day.) The church had a big, beautiful campus and even had a cafeteria inside where they served breakfast and lunch. We looked at each other after church and said, I think we have finally found our church home. At this time we had been living in California for over 2 years.

We decided to return the following Sunday. On our second visit, he preached about tithing. He talked about how he hated to do this, but unless he preaches about tithing; people give too little or not at all. My wife and I were confused about tithing at this time. She had been tithing pretty consistently to our previous church in Chicago or elsewhere ever since we moved. I, on the other hand, was confused about tithing and had heard arguments from all sides, but had not done my own research.

The following Sunday, our third visit to the church, he preached about tithing again. He used the same scriptures as before and used fear to get his point across. This struck me as odd, but my wife and I did not give up on the church yet and decided to return again the following weekend. On our fourth visit to the church, he yet again preached about tithing. At this point, while in church, several red flags were going off inside my mind. He not only preached on tithing, but wanted money for a separate fund to eliminate the church's debt; in order to not hand the debt of building the church to his son's when they take over. He also had a video discussing yet another fund to build a building specially equipped for those with developmental disabilities. (A good cause, but I was already skeptical)

As we sat in the church, I thought that my wife was on the same page as me, but as I looked over; she was writing checks. I did not stop her. When we got home, I expressed my concern with this church and its tactics. She stated that things did not feel right to her as well, but she felt obligated to give. We decided to research tithing in the bible, before we continued to give out of obligation and we prayed to God for clarity.

I read the Bible, searched the internet, and was still confused on tithing. A few days later, my wife woke me up saying that she had a dream where the word "Cherub" was repeated several times. She wanted us to research this, thinking that it might be a sign from God. (Later, after learning from Brother Ron Knight, we now know that everything we think is from God, is not from God.) I spent hours researching cherub and learned a few things, but nothing mind blowing. Well into researching, I stumbled upon a series of videos titled "A Study of Angels" by Brother Ron Knight at Twin Cities Grace. I was fascinated by the chart behind him, and even more fascinated by his clear and thorough delivery of the Bible. I learned so much truth that I began to watch as many of his videos as I could. I began to learn Right Division, how Paul is our Apostle, and received the truth about tithing from watching his videos as well.

One of my biggest concerns was whether or not my wife would accept the Grace message. Luckily, as I explained it to her with scriptures in the Bible, and with the help of Brother Ron Knight's videos, she accepted it into her heart. We have been Grace believers ever since then.

It was also through Bro Ron's videos that we heard about this blog. We constantly use this blog to research topics through the search bar, listen or watch Bro Ron preach, or read the latest posts. Sorry for the lengthy response, but I enjoy telling this story.

Grace and Peace,
Bro Steven J.

...from such withdraw thyself.

1 Timothy 6:3
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

Notice here that Paul is telling us that the words he preaches and teaches are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.  You see, when we [who are mid-Acts, Pauline doctrine, bible believers that rightly divide the word of truth] say we listen to Paul the apostle, we are actually saying Paul is his apostle (i.e., sent one) but we are listening to the Lord Jesus Christ and to the doctrine (i.e., compartmentalized teaching) which is in according to godliness.

Godliness is God-likeness.  When God created Adam, he said let us make man in our image and after our likeness.  The image is the outward form.  When the Lord Jesus Christ formed Adam from the dust of the ground, the Lord had a body that consisted of a head, a torso, arms, and legs, etc.   Adam and Eve saw him and talked with him in the garden in the cool of the day.   Angels are spirits, but when they manifest themselves, they look like men.

Daniel 9:21
Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

Psalm 104:4
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

So that, is the ‘image’ of God.   But God didn’t just create man in his outward image.   He made him in his ‘likeness.’  When you see that word godliness, it is ‘God likeness.’   What that means is this: you think like God thinks; you act like God would act in that situation; and, you labour with him.  The issue of godliness is what you put in your, spirit—your inner man.  It is Paul’s doctrine [words which the Lord gave to Paul to take to the gentiles] that we are to store in our inner man.

1 Timothy 6:3
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Paul’s doctrine leads to godliness, it is in accordance and in line with ‘God likeness’; but a man that teaches otherwise is proud, knowing nothing!   Do you know what ‘destitute means?  It’s a man that has nothing, like a bum on the street, and in this case, a man, proud, knowing nothing, destitute of the truth.   If the church, the body of Christ, a local assembly, is to be the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15) and they let someone in their pulpit that is destitute of the truth [as given to Paul], they are not fulfilling their calling, but are supposing that gain [health, wealth, prosperity] is godliness…from such [ungodliness] withdraw thyself.

…from such withdraw theyself.
